Community partnerships
Our project is for the community, to make sure we are able to develop it in the best way possible we have partnered with many organizations around our community. Thank you to everyone who has been apart of our user testing, research and feedback sessions!
Outreach Partners
We worked with two local organizations throughout our process. They helped us us with deciding what type of signal should be used for communication, haptic or visual, and the best location for the device itself.
California School for the Deaf (in Fremont)
In this organization, we were able to work closely with Ms. Ayres, a basketball coach at this school. Due to the immense experience she has coaching deaf basketball players, her insights were extremely valuable to us throughout the process.
Deaf Camp Pacifica/ California Lions Camp
Ms. Martinez was one of the individuals we were able to work with. She is deaf herself and coaches many sports teams, so it was great to be able to get insights through multiple different perspectives.
User Testing
01
User Testing with a deaf athelete
For our first round of user testing, we were able to test our device with a deaf athlete from our local community. He played a scrimmage with one of our team members, and we were able to gather feedback about what our device did well along with the improvements we can make to it.
02
Quarry Lane School Girls Basketball
For our second round of user testing we were able to get the help of the amazing Quarry Lane school girls basketball team! They tested our device with simulated hearing restrictions so that we could gain feedback and further improve the device.
